The benefit of staying outside Dubrovnik is you can take day trips to Cavtat or Kotor, Montenegro (which is only 2h away, but in our case it took longer because of long lines at boarder control).
Woohoo 🙌 We made it!!! So happy we stuck with our plan and drove to Kotor from Dubrovnik (Mlini) Croatia. It was extremely hot (36C) and border control took longer than we expected but…in the end we did it. What a stunning destination!!! ————————————
Kotor Montenegro. It looks a bit like a mash-up of Lake Como and Norway’s Geirangerfjord, with a few mini Dubrovniks scattered around the water. Once called Europe’s southernmost fjord, the bay – all steel-blue water and steep cliffs – is actually a ria, a submerged river canyon (fjords are created by glaciers). But, whatever – all you need to know is that it’s stunning. (source: norwegian.com)
